The ballet in few lines

The ballet season will be launched with a choreography’s classic on the immortals note of Prokof’ev directed by Patrick Fournillier: Romeo & Giulietta by Kenneth MacMillan, play kept in the alla Scala’s inventory since many years, who have seen the interchange of memorable and passionate protagonists.

MacMillan debates about the event with deep attention to human relations, lyricism and psychological tensions, without forgetting humour moments, by means of the ballet d’action’s dynamics and emotions. The protagonists of the first plays were Roberto Bolle and Misty Copeland, for the first time together in this alla Scala’s ballet, in a setting expressly realized for la Scala in 2010 by Mauro Carosi e Odette Nicoletti, who have been also brought lately in the Japan’s tour.
